But if you watch some of the top replays, you'll see players using homing daggers in different ways here it's pretty insightful and it helped me figure out the most optimal way for me to use em.Ĭlear mob out fast as you can, sacrifice the homing missles if you have to to only have the 3 centis by themselves. If things are still nasty, shoot a few more. I usually have a gut feeling based on my performance if I should use them or not, like if I feel things are getting out of control, I'll release a few and keep going about my business for a few seconds. On that note, it's hard to say how to most effectively use homing daggers at that point. After that, it gets pretty hard to control when the centipedes will go underground and emerge, so do what you can do destroy as many gems as possible before it gets crazy with spiders if you can't destroy the centipedes from head to tail in one go.Įven if there's still a centipede alive when the arena starts filling up at 360, if you've taken out most of its gems then you'll probably be okay, since the homing daggers will likely take it out while you're dealing with everything else. After the first 3 spiders are dead, one or more of the remaining centipedes will probably have emerged, so try to take one more out before the next wave spawns. If you're busy shooting a centipede and you can hear the spiders' legs skittering around, you'll still have just under one second you can safely shoot centipedes if you collect the gems immediately afterwards, so use that to your advantage. Of course, when the spiders spawn, immediately collect all the gems lying around and focus them down. Do what you can to damage the nearest centipede for that time, preferably aim for somewhere near the front of its body. In both cases, you'll want to take out every gem on the first centipede before the first spiders spawn, but if it gets away with one or two gems, you're still all right.Īfter the first one's dead or nearly dead, you should have about 2-5 seconds left until the first wave of spiders spawn. If you're unlucky and its underside is not facing you, quickly follow its head and wait for it to rotate so its underside is visible. In this case, sit real close to it while you take it out so the others are less likely to ram into you (since they tend to avert their course if they're about to ram into a section of another centipede). If you're lucky, its underside will be facing you and you'll be hitting its gems already. Once you can hear them rumbling around underground, look for the smoke and debris that marks where the first one's going to emerge. At 267 or so you're going to want to have all of the skulls from the previous wave dead so you can focus just on the centipedes.
